Alvin Law CSP
Over 13,000 babies around the world were deformed in the early 1960s because of a morning sickness drug, Thalidomide. Alvin Law was born without arms after his birth mother, thinking it was completely safe, used just a couple of the tiny pills and their lives were forever altered.
Yet, what may have become a tragic life-story did not turn out that way. Today, Alvin is not only a completely independent, remarkably successful professional speaker, but proof that out of nothing can arise one of the most inspiring stories you will ever witness.
Drawing on 25 years experience as a speaker, but more importantly 45 years experience living life without arms, Alvin presents what he calls Alvin’s Laws of Life. Using vivid imagery in telling his life story, Alvin’s exploration on Attitude, Learning, Value, Imagination and a Never Give Up Approach shows not how he overcame the immense challenges brought on through being born without arms, but how everyone can overcome their own challenges in life.

Ashley Rhodes-Courter
Since her first National Keynote at age 14, Ashley Rhodes-Courter has shared her story with thousands in the United States and in over 7 countries.
Ashley Rhodes-Courter, MSW, is the quintessential American success story. Born in 1985 to a single teen mother, by the age of 3 she was in Florida’s foster care system where she spent almost ten years being shuttled between 14 homes—some quite abusive—before being adopted from a Children’s Home at the age of twelve.
Despite her ordeal, she excelled in school because she believed that, “my education was the one thing nobody could take from me.” Early in her life she felt compelled to advocate for herself and the other children she lived with, particularly in the abusive foster homes.
Her efforts and academic achievements landed her Eckerd College’s Trustee Scholarship where she graduated with honors and ahead of schedule earning a double major in Communications and Theater and a double minor in Political Science and Psychology. Ashley then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.
During her undergraduate studies, she was one of 20 college students selected for the USA Today All-USA Academic Team and was named one of GLAMOUR Magazine’s Top Ten College Women. She was also selected as one of the four Golden BR!CK Award winners for outstanding advocacy for community change by DoSomething!. As part of their campaign, she was featured on 25 million bags of Cool Ranch Doritos.
By the age of 22, Ashley had become a New York Times Bestselling Author. Her first book, “Three Little Words” is now an International Bestseller and has been published in at least 4 countries. Her second book, “Three More Words” debuted at #1 on Amazon Bestseller’s List. Both books are used in classrooms across the country in various community and First Year Experience Collegiate programs.

As a national/international trainer Ava has trained in Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and all over the United States, on time tested skills of communication and service.
Delegation is essentially the art of accomplishing organizational goals with and through others. Successful delegation involves focused goal setting and effective follow-up and monitoring.
The rules for work are changing. We are no longer judged solely by how smart we are or our level of expertise. More and more, employees need to develop a rounded set of skills to succeed in the workplace. Without the skills to perform at this new level, your staff will move at half-speed-creating bottlenecks, losing focus, causing conflict, and slowing down the entire organization. Dr. Ava Fluty provides keynotes and trainings to address this new reality. The result is organizations that are ready for changes, that communicate effectively, that complete projects on time, that resolve conflicts, that meet and beat customer expectations, and that get out in front and stay there!

Beverly has spent years researching corporate strategies for developing, engaging and retaining knowledge workers.
During the last two decades, she has worked with a host of organizations to establish career development systems and coaching interventions. At the same time, she has been a strong proponent of the need for employees to manage their own careers.
So where does a manager begin when it comes to keeping good people? Dr. Kaye can take the guesswork out of employee retention by explaining 26 hands-on strategies – literally, from A to Z – that any manager, supervisor, or team leader can put to use now.
It’s an inexact science, to be sure. Yet recent reports from companies like Southwest Airlines and Sears show that turnover and customer service are inversely related – that is, the lower the turnover, the higher the customer satisfaction and retention and, ultimately, profitability. Dr. Kaye can discuss the common sense behind keeping employees and customers and how to make it common practice.

Colleen Sweeney
What if one simple question could change your patients' experiences? This is the secret Colleen Sweeney enthusiastically shares as she takes you on a journey through the thrills and frustrations she experienced as director of customer service while leading her hospital’s service excellence initiatives – and she’ll tell you about the random patient encounter that forever altered her improvement mindset.
Over a period of three years, Sweeney interviewed more than one thousand people about their greatest health care fears, forming the basis of the Patient Empathy ProjectSM. Her research led her to develop the Top 11 Patient Fears list and the concept of “clinicaphobia.” In addition to hearing about results, you’ll also see provocative artwork from the postcard project that accompanied the interviews.
With her research as a backdrop, you’ll learn about the Patient Experience Pyramid, a tool useful in improving your own patients’ experiences or those of staff in any department in your organization. You’ll hear about a childbirth unit that created a patient fear index and successfully incorporated its use into an electronic medical record as part of each patient’s care plan. You’ll walk away with numerous easy-to-implement (and fun!) ideas.
Sweeney’s talk ends with a surprising – and unforgettable – twist.
Colleen Sweeney conceived and conducted the Patient Empathy Project, a three-year research study. She discovered that 96% of all patients have serious fears about health care and coined the term clinicaphobiaSM to describe the phenomenon. At Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., Sweeney also served as director at the School of Innovation, which realized a 3:1 return on investment by utilizing the collective genius of its employees.

Eric Chester
Eric Chester is a trusted source in the global dialogue on employee engagement, workplace culture, and the emerging generation. And he isn’t some Johnny-Come-Lately to this important conversation. Since 1986, Eric’s been in the trenches researching, studying, speaking and writing about these topics.
He was one of the first authors to spell out the radical differences of the post-Gen X workforce in his 2002 bestseller, Employing Generation Why: Understanding, Managing, and Motivating Your New Workforce. Companies discovered that Eric had cracked the code on the emerging generation and sought his advice on how to connect with young employees.
Eric became one of North America’s most in-demand conference keynote speakers, presenting at more than 60 meetings and conventions each year. That number increased when his follow-up book, Getting Them to Give a Damn: How to Get Your Front Line to Care About Your Bottom Line, was released in 2005.
Hearing the outcry from America’s employers, Eric turned his attention to building a better workforce. He founded The div for Work Ethic Development, and created a revolutionary curriculum to teach young adults vital employability skills. He wrote the breakthrough book for youth, Bring Your A Game to Work: The 7 Fundamental Values That Will Make Every Employer Want to Hire You and Fight to Keep You! Eric’s Bring Your A Game curriculum has since been expanded to include soft skills employability training for college students, returning military veterans and adults. It is taught in hundreds of schools, workforce divs, community colleges and trade schools.
In 2012, Eric released the acclaimed Reviving Work Ethic: A Leader’s Guide to Ending Entitlement and Restoring Pride in the Emerging Workforce. The first business book written on work ethic since 1904, it set the standard for employers needing ways to instill work ethic values.

Jackie P. Flug
On November 24, 1985, Jackie woke up just like any other person. Later that evening she was on a flight from Athens, Greece bound for Cairo, Egypt. Her life would never be the same. Ten minutes after takeoff, three men calling themselves the Egypt Revolution began to wave their guns and proceeded to take control of the airplane, and the lives of every person onboard.
A gun battle ensued as the terrorists took control of the flight. We were forced to land in Valetta, Malta. The terrorists began to execute one passenger every 15 minutes until their demands for fuel were met. Like four passengers before her, she was shot at point blank range, execution style, thrown from the plane onto the tarmac and left for dead. For five hours, she drifted in and out of consciousness until an airport grounds crew retrieved her body on its way to the morgue. Fifty-nine passengers died during the ordeal.
Her keynote presentation, The Courage to Succeed, shows us how we can all become peak performers through our attitude and our reactions to change, adversity, and challenge. It is designed for groups who want to boost morale, provide their people with a lift, and inspire them to do their very best on a daily basis.

Jamie Clark
Although it would be easy to define Jamie Clarke in a number of exciting phrases, there is one title that has been pursuing him most of his life: Adventurer. A broad word indeed. Some define it as “a bold or unusually risky undertaking.” Jamie defines it as Outcome Unknown. It’s this very idea that shapes his talks to audiences around the world. Jamie tells more than stories. What he shares is stronger and stranger than fiction. True and courageous. Raw and grounded.
Jamie reaches back to experiences in wild places and reflects them forward to illuminate the complexity of challenges organizations and people face daily. His message challenges all of us to face our deepest fears – to live a courageous life — and forces audiences to question and rethink where we are headed. Jamie’s approach is unvarnished candor about his experiences as a leader in today’s VUCA*(Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, & Ambiguous) business climate. It is real and refreshing; most definitely not for the faint of heart, or organizations seeking to maintain the “feel good” status quo.

Laura Larsen
An extended illness at age 12 led to her unwavering vision of becoming a nurse. A long marriage to a prolific artist led her to explore creativity—who has it, how can it be tapped, and why this is important in daily living. The death of her young sister-in-law brought early awareness of the denial of death that our culture fosters as well as the knowledge that death can occur at any moment. Her mother’s obsession with the fear of a long drawn out dying process illuminated the opposite side of sudden death.
In the early eighties, Laura began exploring the relationship between creativity and health through the publication of 16 editions of the Blue Sky Journal. The Journal invited people who did not consider themselves to be artists or writers to submit poetry, stories, art, or articles about creative people. The purpose was to stimulate creativity in each of us as well as bringing community to this process.
By the nineties, the parents of many of Laura’s friends were beginning the dying process as well as peers succumbing to cancer. These stories, each in their own way, brought light to the changes in our medical system in this century, the disconnection between spirit and the body, and how and when purpose in life can be related to living it well or letting it go.

Mark Sanborn
Mark Sanborn CSP, CPAE is President of Sanborn & Associates, Inc. - an idea studio dedicated to developing leaders in business and in life - and an internationally known speaker and author on the topics of High Impact Leadership, Teambuilding, Mastering Change, and Extraordinary Customer Service as embodied in the Wall Street Journal best seller, The Fred Factor.
Leadership Experience: Going Wider and Deeper In his work with corporate America, Mark Sanborn has found that the majority of attention given to leadership is focused on outer leadership characteristics and skills – what a leader does. This includes the “typical” leadership skills of listening, communicating, collaborating, etc. These activities are the ""hands"" of leadership. For any leader to be ultimately successful, he or she needs to focus on the complete leadership experience: both the inner and outer aspects of leadership.
Personalize the message of Mark's bestselling book, The Fred Factor, for your audience. This highly motivational presentation explains how you can become a Fred ... providing you the means to reinvent your business and life through self-mastery, vision, empowerment, and service. This program is a powerful way to get everyone from front-line employees to upper management focused on the importance of self-responsibility and creating value for those we work and live with. It goes beyond the workplace to show viewers how to enrich their personal lives as well.
High Impact Leadership Few people are ""natural born leaders,"" but leadership can be learned and this presentation teaches it. You'll get a practical blueprint for creating leaders at every level in your organization and learn how to reach new heights.
Mark Scharenbroich
Mark Scharenbroich's core messages have always been about connecting. Sometimes it was in schools to help teachers connect to their students. Other times it was in organizations or businesses to help team members feel truly connected to their core values and their customers.
Mark’s biggest “Ah-ha” moment came while traveling to an engagement. It was there that he stumbled upon the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company’s 100th year anniversary celebration. He kept overhearing people as they passed bikers and shared two simple words, “Nice Bike”.
A connection was made. It gave Mark an unforgettable metaphor that inspired him to write his award-winning book, Nice Bike: Making Meaningful Connections on the Road of Life.
More than a passing compliment, Nice Bike is a powerful, memorable metaphor that acts as a catalyst to help build stronger connections and more effective teams. The Nice Bike principle helps individuals to become more engaged and passionate about serving others.
Mark’s Nice Bike messages teach his listeners to make connections. Engage your people, energize your business.
